Redact a report before sharing

A method for taking a sensitive report — an eviction, a safety incident, a member complaint — and making it safe to share, without losing the facts a reader needs to act on it. Capture it once and your agent follows it the same way every time.

1. Replace every legal name with a chosen handle or a role.
2. Record the building or block, never the unit.
3. Remove dates of birth, phone numbers, and emails; keep only what the reader needs.
4. Strip metadata (author, GPS, device) from any attached photo or PDF.
5. Have a second trusted person re-read it for anything that could re-identify someone.
